Glock 22 Trigger - SHOT SHOW RANGE DAY is the Franklin Armory buzzing at the dropped mic. They invented the Glock binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. Pull/release trigger designed for use with Glock. We took a closer look at the show and filmed it on the day of the booth.
When Franklin Armory came out with their binary trigger, it was always a dream to have one for a Glock. Until now, this seemed impossible. Well, the Franklin Armory engineers did. Life finds a way. The Glock Binary Trigger is called the G-S173.
Glock 22 Trigger
Franklin Armory makes their Glock Binary Trigger for the Glock 17, but it's not a simple trigger swap. To have a Glock binary trigger, they performed some wizardry with the slide to work the trigger. So when you buy a Glock Binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You will need to supply your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

You can see that the Glock Binary slide is not the same as the standard OEM Glock 17 slide. The slide has cuts to accommodate the magic.
Like their other binary triggers, the Glock Binary Trigger has a selector. This is the rotary switch to the left of the slider. Lift it up for a single shot. Reduce it for pull/release binary mode.
Franklin Armory has two models on hand. The one below is a very beautiful model with a cut optic at the top.
Below, another sample. They don't know if they will offer optical cut, they are still deciding. I hope they do. They are also exploring options with sliding cuts.
Maintaining Your Glock
I also shot at the range day. I found the trigger to be a bit different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also filmed a close-up slow motion of the trigger to see how it moves when manipulated in binary mode. There are some interesting things I learned about this trigger from high speed.
If you watch the slow-motion footage carefully, you can see that the trigger resets when released in two steps. It advances about halfway and the attacker is free to fire the next round. Then, when the slide is done moving back and forth, the trigger is pushed forward to its final position, where you can continue to pull the trigger again for the next shot.
Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock G-S173 Binary for $899. Some may get sticker shock, remember that a regular binary trigger is around $300 and a HK binary trigger is $700. This makes the slide just $199 extra. You should always supply your own barrel and recoil spring. The release date is planned for the second quarter.
